What Do Golf Club Condition Grades Actually Mean?

At Replay Golf we grade every club out of 10 before listing it. Here's exactly what each grade means so you know what you're buying.

10/10 — As New Played once or twice, if at all. No marks on the face, shaft or grip. Looks and performs like a brand new club straight out of the box.

9/10 — Excellent Very light use. You may find the faintest bag chatter marks on the shaft or a small scuff on the sole, but the face is clean and the grip is fresh. This is the sweet spot for value — near-new performance at a fraction of the price.

8/10 — Very Good Light to moderate use. Small marks on the sole and possibly light face wear, but nothing that affects performance. Grip may show some wear but is still functional. Great value for regular club golfers.

7/10 — Good Moderate use. Visible wear on sole and face but structurally sound. May need a regrip to feel like new. Ideal for golfers who want to try a new club without a big investment.

6/10 — Fair Heavier use with clear cosmetic wear. The club performs fine but won't win any beauty contests. Best for beginners or practice clubs.

We never list below 6/10. If a club doesn't meet our minimum standard it doesn't go on the site — simple as that.
